In rural Zambia, our Solar Electric Light Project has been successful largely due to the involvement of local leaders and community members. Before implementing the project, we engaged village leaders to understand their energy needs and trained local technicians to install and maintain the solar panels. As a result, the community not only embraced the initiative but also took pride in managing the project themselves.

A local technician, Samuel, who helped install solar panels, said, “It feels good to know that I can make a difference in my own village. We no longer have to rely on outside help because we have the skills to maintain these solar systems.” This sense of empowerment has made the project more sustainable, with long-term benefits for the entire community.
